Q

Amy, has the collapse of the old record industry paradigm hurt you professionally? Do you see opportunity in the new self-driven marketing/distribution channels that are slowly emerging for musicians?

Amy Correia responded on 08/03/2010
A

Having ownership of my own recordings has been empowering. The hardest part is doing all those things that a record co. did: promotion, press, tour support, distribution, etc. There's opportunity in the new channels, but to me the greatest opportunity is getting to perform in front of people. The opportunity to speak directly to people has made a big difference, too.
